Is a wash membership worth it?
Short answer
A membership spreads the cost of regular care into predictable monthly payments. Care (for vehicles without a coating or film) has tiers from a couple of hand washes a year up to nearly monthly, plus a yearly decontamination wash credit. Protected (for ceramic coated or PPF vehicles) adds a yearly maintenance credit and a discount on other services. Each wash credit expires when the next one comes due, so it suits people who come in regularly, not someone who rarely washes.

How does a membership work?
Instead of paying for each wash separately, you make a monthly payment and earn wash credits over time. It spreads the cost of regular care into predictable payments. Your first wash comes with your second payment.
Each wash credit expires when the next one comes due. That's by design: the membership rewards coming in regularly at the level you choose, rather than saving washes up.
What's the difference between Care and Protected?
Care is for vehicles without a ceramic coating or paint protection film. It comes in tiers, from a couple of hand washes a year up to nearly monthly (11 a year), and every tier includes a yearly decontamination wash credit.
Protected is for ceramic coated or PPF vehicles. It includes hand washes plus a yearly maintenance credit to keep the coating or film performing, and a discount on other services.
Who is a membership a good fit for?
People who want their vehicle washed on a regular schedule and like knowing the cost each month. It's especially useful for coated or PPF vehicles, which should be hand washed regularly to stay at their best. See how often to detail a car.
Who is it not a good fit for?
Someone who rarely washes their vehicle. Because credits expire when the next one comes due, unused washes don't pile up. If you only want an occasional wash, paying per visit makes more sense.
Benefits also apply only to the vehicle on the membership, so a household with several vehicles needs one membership per vehicle.
At APC Auto Spa
APC offers Care and Protected memberships at both shops. Washes are by hand with a rinseless or waterless method, which is the best way to wash a coated or PPF vehicle.
